  Österlen GK
Course facts: Österlen GK, seaside and parkland course on the Baltic Sea coast, just north of Simrishamn. The undulating landscape creates many blind holes that call for strategy and precision. Some holes are attractively embedded in the apple orchard - a remedy for low blood sugar levels. Beautiful scenery.

HISTORY
Österlen Golf Club was formed in 1945, but golf had been played earlier on the meadows by the sea in Vik. A local doctor, Johann Lehmann, took the initiative and experts were called down from Stockholm. With the help of a local farmer, Edvard Månsson, a 6-hole course was built. In 1951 the course was extended to 9 holes, and in 1979 it was time to extend the course to the full 18 holes.

One of the club's members, Tommy Nordström, then unknown but now one of Sweden's most famous course architects, designed and planned the 18-hole course, Lilla Vik. In 2001, another 18-hole course was opened, the Djupadal course.
